The Investment Association has collaborated with Wesleyan to launch ‘IA Velocity – Birmingham’. This exciting initiative aims “to increase the rate of tech adoption… within Asset Management and Capital Markets.” METCloud are delighted to have been selected as one of the eight #FinTech firms in the Birmingham cohort.
The Investment Association launched ‘Velocity – London’ in October 2018 and it proved to be a massive success. The CEO,of the Investment Association, Chris Cummings, had this to say:
“Just over a year after the launch of our FinTech innovation hub and accelerator, Velocity is going from strength to strength with the launch of Velocity Birmingham today.
Birmingham has one of the UK’s largest tech clusters outside of London and a hub of professional and financial services, and through Velocity Birmingham investment managers can embrace the technologies of the future to the benefit of customers and the wider economy.”
The eight chosen innovators were announced at Velocity Birmingham’s official Launch on Wednesday 27th November. The well-attended event included guest speakers, Chris Cummings, Chief Executive at The Investment Association, Mario Mazzocchi, Group Chief Executive at Wesleyan and Suzi Evans, Director at Deloitte. Andy Street, The Mayor of the West Midlands also showed his support during the launch, with a congratulatory video-message.
Velocity Birmingham hosted the event at its brand new, 5000sqft FinTech hub, located at the well-known Wesleyan building in the heart of Birmingham. Velocity Birmingham will also offer FinTech firms networking opportunities, resources and policy reports from the IA, along with a bespoke programme of events and expert briefings. METCloud is excited to have been selected and look forward to to collaborating with the other cohorts as we create new AI/ML, Blockchain and Analytics innovations for the Financial Services sector.
